get help with anxiety

Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it

Khalil Gibran

Anxiety is a feeling of worry or dread that lives in your body—it thrives on uncertainty. You don’t know what will happen or how you’ll cope.

Anxiety shows up in different ways: the nervous energy you feel before a big event or the overwhelming fear that something terrible might happen. Anxiety is part of being human. Everyone feels it.

Sometimes, anxiety helps—it pushes you to prepare, study, or handle important moments. But when it becomes too much, it can take over. Sometimes, medication prescribed by a doctor or psychiatrist, alongside therapy, is the best way to manage severe anxiety, including panic attacks, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) , and the more complex CPTSD.

Many people try to ease anxiety through work, social media, alcohol, or other distractions. These might help for a while but can lead to bigger issues over time.

Anxiety as Information

You can learn to see anxiety as a signal — your body is telling you something. Maybe you’re afraid to fail. Or succeed. Or you don’t know what choice to make. Like an early warning system, it is trying to guide you.

Sometimes clients even reduce or eliminate their need for regular medication.

As a Gestalt-trained therapist, I take a holistic approach, using the techniques most suitable for you — cognitive, behavioral, somatic, emotional, spiritual — to help you explore the relevant physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of your anxiety.
