Training for Therapists:
Working with Eating Disorders
(Disordered Eating)
Eating Disorder Training is offered to psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, psychologists, doctors, nurses, dieticians and nutritionists interested in learning how to work with people who suffer from disordered eating.
The focus is on binge eating, compulsive overeating, emotional eating, bulimia, food addiction, restrictive eating and other disordered eating behaviors, along with body image, weight and size-related concerns, including obesity. Because anorexia requires specific skills and hospital treatment, it will be covered only briefly
As a Registered Psychotherapist working in this field since 2007, and a seasoned workshop facilitator and trainer, I bring over 40 years of my own recovery process to this workshop. This includes thousands of hours in 12-step rooms as I listened to the struggles and successes of others and shared my own.
The training is mainly didactic with some experiential components.
Right now, it is available on an individual basis (i.e., privately), or in a small group of your own choosing.
